AFBA: crime situation will not impact negatively on the economic processes

According to statement made by \"The Association of Young Financiers and Businessmen – AFBA”, the national criminal situation is not alarming and it will not have any influence on the economic processes. The president of the organization, Nodar Chichinadze, further discussed this topic at \"Pirvelis Press-Club”.

According to Chichinadze’s evaluation, there’s a one sided position in the society concerning the criminal situation, which is natural, although, in many cases, the portrayed reality happens to be very subjective and distorted – \"the basis of every evaluation should be the official statistics, published by appropriate entities. According to official data from Ministry of Internal Affairs, during the last 6 months, in total 12 881 criminal facts are registered. As a reminder, the number registered during the same time period last year consisted of 15 503 cases, as of 2012, during the former government, 18 923 cases were registered through January-July. We will also present the statistics of the previous years, according to which in 2011, there were 32 263 cases registered, 2010 – 34 739 cases, 2009 – 35 949 cases, 2008 – 44 644 cases, 2007 – 54 746 cases, 200 – 62 283 cases, 2005 – 43 266 cases, 2004 – 24 856 cases, 2003 – 17 397 cases. Total of 350 143 criminal cases were registered in 2003-2011, 40% of which consisted of serious crimes” – stated the president of \"AFBA”.

Thus, as statistics show, the tendency of rising criminality was stronger during the previous years, although reality, that points to the decrease in criminal cases, for a specific group of society, became the source of manipulation of opposition and political favorability. \"AFBA” considers it unacceptable to prioritize personal political aspirations over state interests. The specific statistic is of importance, which shows, that criminal situation is not alarming, there is no tendency of escalation. Naturally, it is unfortunate, to be exposed to recent criminal cases, although, generating a politic pier-company from these facts, fore mostly damages the interests of the country.

Nodar Chichinadze also evaluates the influence of criminal situation on business environment. \"We believe that no threat exists in this direction, according to official statistics, there are 4 times less economic, corporate, finance and similar criminal cases, which highly influence business. Business environment is not damaged by the existing reality, but by its’ subjective perception, interpretation and replication – states Mr. Chichinadze.
